Stop A Murder is a series of five ebooks with a fun premise. You play the sleuth, and try to follow the clues and solve the puzzles to prevent a murder from happening.
In this five book series, you'll be tasked with decoding the mind and motivations of a nefarious killer who is plotting to commit an unspeakable crime. To do this, you'll need to solve over seventy puzzles. When you answer correctly, you are rewarded with more clues that can stop a murder and reveal the killer's identity.
Each book contains an epistolary collection of emails, texts, and letters, sent to bestselling author J.A. Konrath, by a serial killer. This psychopath is leaving detailed, cryptic hints about who will be murdered, why, when, where, and how.
Some of the hints are easy to figure out. Others are much more devious.
Do you like solving mysteries? Do you enjoy puzzles or escape-the-room games? Are you good at spotting clues?
Only you can stop a murder.
Are you smart enough?
Are you brave enough?
Let the games begin.
This series works best with an internet connection, using a color ebook reader or app to enter answers on the killer's website, www.stopamurder.com. A black and white e-ink reader will work, but the interface will be smoother if used in conjunction with a computer or smart phone.
While each book in this series can be read and enjoyed on its own, the experience will be richer if read in order, and if the internet is used to view the videos.
Many readers prefer to use two devices at once. One device to read the ebooks, and a separate computer, smart phone, or tablet, to type in puzzle answers.
Confused? You shouldn't be. Just remember that this isn't a self-contained video game or app. These are ebooks that link to a separate website, www.stopamurder.com, and you'll need to visit that website to check if your answers are correct and to unlock more clues.
Some of the puzzles in the Stop A Murder Series are tricky. Please don't email the author asking for answers; he isn't talking.
You can visit the Stop A Murder Facebook page to interact with other readers and get hints and help.
Some of the puzzles involve closely examining pictures. You should be able to solve those picture puzzles on your reading device, but if they're too small or not very clear, click below for bigger versions.
NOTE: If you're seeking solutions for the trickier puzzles, you can get the solution ebook here.
